Dream in Action (Part 2 of 2)

Dream in Action (Part 2 of 2)

At a young age we are encouraged to dream big, to pursue our biggest dream that will lead us to live our dream life. But along the way, life happens and we make choices that lead to responsibilities and without realizing it 24 hours in a day just isn’t enough anymore. When we look around we live a reality that has pushed us further and further away from our dreams, leading us to stop dreaming all together and letting life just happen.

You are not alone, and it’s not too late.

Today, I made a choice to stop speaking defeat into my life, to stop thinking that I am not worthy enough, qualified enough or even too broken to pursue my dreams and nonetheless live my dreams. I’m not referring to pursuing a life based on worldly dreams and standards but a life and dreams that glorify God. Where living an ordinary life is exactly where God will use me to live my best life, my dream life. In writing these words and sharing my heart is where I live my purpose, it’s where I sow seeds of God’s love, grace and mercy. Living an ordinary life for an extraordinary purpose is where I want my dreams to take root and grow into fruition for generations to come.

Through these words and this blog I get to share the biggest dream of all…to write, to make you feel, and ultimately to encourage you.  I am living through my answered prayers of yesterday and through writing I am living my purpose and I pray that one day I will see this seed planted in my heart years ago of having a published book.

Friend, we all have our own journey, our own purpose in life. Through the ordinary we are still a part of something bigger than us. His plan.

Blessings,

Encouraging The Heart

Encouraging The Heart

A huge reason why I decided to put my fear aside and plant seeds of Gods love through writing is to encourage and speak life into the hearts of my readers, including myself. It’s so easy to be discouraged when life happens, it’s so easy to lose track of our goals, plans, and dreams because along the way we encounter discouragement.

For so long I tried to quiet the whispers of writing because it meant being known, vulnerable, transparent and honest. I knew I was living small. In fact, I remember reading how we’re actually doing a dishonor to God when we don’t use our gifts and talents to shine for His glory. That rocked my world.

A seed was planted that day and I couldn’t quiet that voice any longer. I knew that saying “yes” to starting a blog meant digging in the dirty and allowing God to plant good soil in my heart. And although my purpose of this blog is to inspire and encourage you to live a life of purpose, right where you are, it also serves me as a reminder when I face discouragement to seek Him through the gifts He has given me.

0024-534x800The truth is, we will face discouragement through every season in life, and whether we do it intentionally or not we’ll turn to the next best thing that will offer encouragement to us. Not realizing that we carry that same power within. God has blessed us with talents and gifts that are meant to shine for His glory. Start searching within, because chances are whatever you’re seeking, you’ve already been gifted with them!

As I wondered how I would end this love note, and as I wrapped up my reading of Make It Happen by Lara Casey, she wrote something so powerful that I knew I had to share it with you!

“Friend, your gifts – the seed of purpose God has given you -matter. Maybe those seeds won’t grow into fruit-bearing plants that provide for your family, but they might make beautiful flowers that attract bees and make life beautiful, blooms that refresh the soul and can be given to others, spreading joy. And who knows, maybe those gifts would provide for your family- and a whole lot of other people- if you would just give them a sunny spot in your life and some basic nutrients.”

-Lara Casey

Be a light, share your gifts with every heart you touch.

A Purposeful Season

A Purposeful Season

I’ve found purpose in this season while seeking more to life in my ordinary days. If only, we would learn to be still, be present and embrace the beauty, calmness and peace this season offers, our hearts can be made new. Life brings different seasons for the purpose of stretching, growing and eventually changing us, and with an open heart it can transform us.

We were all created for a purpose! Dig in and find what fires you up, what makes you feel alive and excited? We have this misconception of needing to have it all perfectly together to start living out our purpose. I know I did, but we are so wrong! God uses the mess, our feelings of being inadequate, unworthy, not enough to be a light in this world. I’ve learned that it’s okay to fail, it’s okay to make a mess of things, and it’s okay to not have it all together. Because if we did, we wouldn’t need Jesus.

I’m learning to live my best life through the ordinary days by being intentional, present, purposeful and offering myself grace when the world has set expectations on how life should be lived. I’m seeking nothing more than cultivating a grateful heart, right where I am and allowing God to do the rest.

Find purpose in every season, friend.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”                   -Romans 8:28
